Political System

Settlements are governed by their members and will engage each other in a network of alliances, mergers and conflict.

Players can choose to become a member of a settlement — much like they would a guild, and make use of its vendors or participate in governance. Each adventurer character can only be a member of one settlement at a time, with a one week cooldown to switch which settlement an adventurer is part of.

Voting System

Players can vote on settlement proposals for major changes in the game including settlement alliances, mergers and conflict. Some players get more votes than others based on vendor guild membership and other factors.

We are exploring adding other areas of governance including cultural and industrial streams. Stay tuned for more updates!

Settlement Mergers

Settlements merge and upgrade when a sufficient number of settlements vote to become allied and approve the merger.

Mergers occur based on a weekly merger voting system between players.

Is there an advantage to having different adventurers in different settlements?

Yes! Settlement members are privy to proposals and planned actions that would be valuable information to adversaries or potential allies. Failure to take account of the intent of other settlements could have devastating consequences in the long term. This is a thinking game, not just hack-and-slash.
